History

Department of Computer Science is aimed toward producing advanced key human resources in the field of computer engineering and computer science, which are the foundation of future IT technology, and contributing to the national competitiveness of Korea.

2016.04 Hanyang University is selected as a SW-oriented University by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (total of 6M USD in government aid over 4 years).
2016.02 College of SW is newly established.
Department of Computer Science is newly established within the College of SW, integrating existing Software Major and Computer Major in CSE.
2014.06

Awarded University for Creative Korea-II (CK-II) supported by Ministry of Education

(A five-year government support with a total amount of 4.6M USD)
2012.08

Establishment of a separated graduate program (Department of Computer and Software) from the joint graduate program (ECE)
2012.07

Awarded Seoul Creative Human Resource Development Program (A three-year support with a total amount of 2.8M USD)
2011.07

Awarded Seoul Accord Vitalization Program supported by Ministry of Knowledge supported by Ministry of Knowledge Economy (A seven-year government support with a total amount of 3.5M USD)

Computer Major and Software Major established in the CSE

Software Major selected as Hanyang Diamond Program (Premium Department Program)

Agreement established between Hanyang University and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. to initiate and manage undergraduate programs in Software Major

Closing of CIC

Movement of Computer major in DIC to the Colleage of Engineering and is renamed Division of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

Awarded Brain Korea 21(BK 21) Program supported by Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (Graduate program in ECE)

Establishment of Dept. of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE) as a joint graduate program with Division of Electronics Engineering
